Experience Gaelic Games · Na Fianna GAA Club, Glasnevin
Coaches at Na Fianna GAA club in Glasnevin introduce the games on video, then put a hurl and a ball in your hands for hurling, Gaelic football and handball. Pick it if watching is not enough: it's the one ticket here where you play, but it does not go to Croke Park.

Experience Gaelic Games runs its Dublin sessions at Na Fianna, a GAA club on St Mobhi Road in Glasnevin, Dublin 9. Discover Ireland lists the company as licensed by the GAA as an official partner. The session starts upstairs in the visitor centre with an introduction to the games and their place in Irish life, with video clips. Then you go out to the all-weather pitch with the coaches.
Outside, it's hurling, Gaelic football and handball, taught from the basics and played in gentle teams. You learn to pick up a sliotar with the hurl, to solo a football and to slap a handball against the wall. Nobody expects you to be good. The point is to understand, with your own hands, why a hurling match on TV looks impossible. The listing gives three hours in total.
Be clear on the location: this is a club ground north of the city, not Croke Park. Many visitors do both, the Stadium Tour in the morning and the games in the afternoon. The listing rules out children under 5 and pregnant women, and asks for flat shoes and sports clothes.
